Luna Kids Dance Faculty |

Each LKD owner/faculty is a professional dance artist, performer and educator. Collectively, we have taught more than 10,000 children over the past 20 years. Our programs, as well as our business, continue to grow as needs emerge and partners/owners align new knowledge with current practices and values that emphasize equity, equality and human rights. Nancy Ng received her MFA in dance from Mills College and her teaching credential from SFSU. She has been awarded three California Arts Council Artist residencies and a Marin Arts Council choreography award. Patricia Reedy is the founder of Luna and director of Teaching & Learning for the organization. A choreographer and teacher all of her life, she developed and continues to evolve the LKD approach. Ms. Reedy holds a MA degree in Education from Mills College, has choreographed and performed many dance works and written numerous articles, as well as the book, Body, Mind & Spirit IN ACTION: a teacher’s guide to creative dance. She currently manages the California Institute for Dance Learning, a project of Luna Kids Dance. Alisa Rasera began dancing at age 3, exploring various dance forms. In 1994 her Modern Dance training deepened while attending the California Institute of the Arts where she earned a BFA in Dance. Alisa also studied and earned an MFA in Dance Performance and Choreography at New York University. From 1999-2007 Alisa danced with Oakland’s Physically Integrated, AXIS Dance Company. During these 8 years she held the roles of Dancer/Performer, Education Director, Teaching Artist, and created several pieces for the company. Alisa toured nationally with AXIS and performed the works of dance notables including Bill T. Jones, Ann Carlson & Stephen Petronio. Her work as a dance teacher has included many different settings including classrooms, studios, camps & festivals.She has also created a small repertoire of her own work that has often gravitated her to working in the musical theater genre. Danae Rees received her Double Bachelor Degree in Performing Arts (Dance) and Education (Secondary) at Queensland University of Technology in Australia. After teaching in Australia for a few years, she moved to the United Kingdom where she made London her base for the past 8 years. She has taught dance in a variety of capacities to many age groups in and around the London, working with Arts Colleges and Community Schools who specialize in Dance, guest lecturing on teaching courses at Universities and mentoring students on the Royal Academy of Dance teaching course. Most recently Danae was Head of Dance at Jo Richardson Community School (inclusive school) where she was able to develop a school based curriculum for Dance across all age groups, along with an extensive after school program that focused on creating youth dance to extend creative and performing experiences for gifted and talented students. This work allowed Danae to work closely with Laban and The Place in providing extended dance training for students through the British Government's "Centre for Advance Training" (C.A.T) in Dance. Erin Sullivan has served as a dance specialist and teaching artist for more than six years in New York City. Erin served as the Director of Education of RIOULT, a professional modern dance company based in Manhattan, leading their education program that brought dance into the public schools. Erin was also the Dance Specialist at Bronx Charter School for the Arts, where she was one of the founding members, created the dance curriculum and was the dance educator for grades K-5. In addition, Erin has served as a teaching artist for NY City Center, American Ballet Theatre, Ballet Hispanico and American Repertory Ballet in Princeton, NJ. Erin is a graduate of University of the Arts where she earned her BFA in Modern Dance. She holds certificates from the 92nd Street Y’s Dance Education Laboratory, The Language of Dance®, and City Center’s Stage to Classroom. |
